What are you having trouble with?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. embed not working - nothing shows up

    When i try to embed my views, they do not show up [either in a simple page or in my html/php coded index in Omeka]. Any ideas?

  2. Augmenting dates before the Common Era

    I'd like to make a timeline with a set of data that includes BCE dates. I know ISO 8601 allows for expanded year representation (±YYYY) with prior agreement, so I tried it out. No luck though. How should I format the fields so I can properly augment the data?

  3. How to change default gallery view

    How to change default gallery view so that the "grouped as sorted" is unselected? When this is pre-selected images are displayed vertically instead of in a grid.

  4. Cannot pick map, scatterplot, timeline, or gallery in Build Views

    Having trouble with views - right now I can only pick pie chart, list, or table. My data has both geography and dates, so I am not sure why the other options are grayed out for me. Any ideas?

  5. map view not showing scroll bar in popup when there are 2 items

    A pin point says there are 2 images at that location, but only one link shows up in the popup. There is no scroll bar to see the second link. This happens when I embed - it works fine at the Viewshare site.

  6. Display the max upload filesize on the viewshare website prior to subscribing, not after

    C'mon guys, really? ..."data with less than 1,000 records, e.g. spreadsheets with less than 1,000 rows"
    Can I load multiple spreadsheets (each with 1,000 records) to a same project?
    Can I stitch them to Supplementary info (related database, ie, multiple authors)?
    What would be the max individual filesize and total filesize for a viewshare project?

  7. Cannot upload any data

    I commented on another thread, but just found the bit in the guide about making a new one.

    I am unable to upload any data. I have tried my own data and the sample data. When I try to upload a CSV I get an error. When I upload the sample data files, I get no errors, but no data appears in my Data tab.

    I am running Windows 7, and have tried the upload with Firefox 18, Internet Explorer 9 and Chrome 24.

  8. Uploading data file

    I uploaded an xls file. I did not receive an error message, but the file does not appear in the data section of my account. How do I locate the data?

  10. Uploading data files

    When I upload an Excel spreadsheet - there are fields missing from the upload and the fields are in the wrong order. What am I doing wrong? Also, the Delete function does not seem to work.

  11. Field labels crowd field values in Chrome but not Firefox.

    When using Chrome I noticed that field labels inconsistently crowd field values in a list view: sometimes the field labels run right up against the value and sometimes they don't. (Windows OS + Chrome 20.0.1132.57 m) In Firefox, however, there always seems to be plenty of space between field labels and field values. (Windows XP Professional + Firefox 4.0.1)

    Conversely, facets are nicely horizontally spaced in a one-column view in Chrome, but facets horizontally crowd one another in a one-column view in Firefox.

    Simple styling bug?

  12. Table view bleeds outside the right side of the window. I am unable to see all the data.

    I made a Table View of my data. However, the data goes off the right side of the window. Is there a limit to the number of columns you can display?

  13. the map manipulation icons render over the map point popup

    when the two overlap hiding text on the item description. This happens in all major browsers. I have been unable to fix it with CSS modifications in embedded views. It seems to be a z-index problem but not sure. It should be fixed. It is a detail that greatly detracts from an otherwise very nice product.

  14. Trouble with MODS from Zotero Import

    Hi,

    I'm trying to import a MODS xml file created by Zotero Standalone for Mac 3.07 (it won't allow me to copy the About screen, sorry). I'm on a Mac running Lion OSX 10.7.4. The import mostly works, but it doesn't see certain data that's there, notably the place of publication and the date. The file didn't validate at validome.org, but it only threw four errors (example below), and I don't think those errors are the ones causing the ViewShare import to fail, especially since the markup in the attached file looks like it matches the MODS schema outlined at …
