Augmenting dates before the Common Era

I'd like to make a timeline with a set of data that includes BCE dates. I know ISO 8601 allows for expanded year representation (±YYYY) with prior agreement, so I tried it out. No luck though. How should I format the fields so I can properly augment the data?

    For making a timeline with both BCE dates and CE dates, don't use a "+" sign in front of your CE dates, only use the "-" for the BCE dates. You also don't have to augment your dates, just change the type in your dataset to date/time to create the timeline.
